Our new Open Source Project oTranCe is available at http://www.otrance.org
oTranCe (online Translation Center) is the platform we use to translate the phrases used in MySQLDumper. Since other projects probably might have to execute the very same task, we felt it is a good idea to present our solution to the public.
So we added some functionality that makes it a usable solution for other projects and released it as Open Source.
Momentary the project can be checked out from our subversion repository, but have a look at the project site.
This forum is about questions to this very new project.

Liebe/r MySQL-Anwender/in,
nur eine Woche nach der letzten Veröffentlichung mussten wir reagieren, da sich ein Bug im Zusammenhang mit dem Perl Skript eingeschlichen hat. Wenn Du das Perl Skript crondump.pl nutzt, empfehlen wir die Aktualisierung der Dateien.
Nach dem Upload der Dateien rufe bitte einmal die Konfiguration auf und überprüfe die Einstellungen im Bereich "cronscript". Danach speichere die Konfiguration. Das korrigiert die Werte.

Wie mache ich ein Update?
Wenn Du bereits Version 1.24, 1.24.2 oder 1.24.3 im Einsatz hast, dann kannst Du die Dateien aus dem Zip-Paket einfach auf den Server überspielen (lediglich die Datei config.php aus dem Hauptordner solltest Du nicht kopieren). Falls Du die Perl-Datei nutzt und diese in einen anderen Ordner befördert hast (cgi-bin), dann vergiss nicht, dies wieder zu tun.
Wenn Du von einer älteren Version aktualisieren möchtest, dann mache bitte eine saubere Neu-Installation.
Um das haben wir uns in dieser Version gekümmert:
- Allgemein: Wenn "inc" in der Domain oder im Pfad zum MySQLDUmper-Verzeichnis vorkam, konnte die Datei runtime.php nicht eingebunden werden.
- Home / Konfiguration: beim Speichern der Perl-Konfigurationsdatei wurden die Auswahl der zu sichernden Datenbanken nicht korrekt gespeichert.
- Home / Verzeichnisschutz: beim Anlegen des Verzeichnisschutzes wurden PHP-Warnungen ausgegeben wenn PHP kleiner 5.3.0 genutzt wird.
- Perl: Einige kosmetische Änderungen in der Ausgabe.
- Perl: Schreibt "DROP VIEW" anstelle von "DROP TABLE" in die Backupdatei wenn es sich um einen VIEW handelt.
- Perl: Ausgabe des Typs einer Tabelle zur Ausgabe hinzugefügt.

Dear MySQLDumper-User,
just 1 week after the last release we had to react because there is a bug in version 1.24.3 which is related to Perl. If you are using the Perl script crondump.pl we recommend to update your files.
After uploading please go to the configuration, click the button "cronscript" and check your settings. After saving the configuration profile everything is up to date again.

How do I have to do an update?
When you update from version 1.24, 1.24.2 or 1.24.3 you can simply copy the files from the unpacked zip file to your server (but keep your config.php file on the server - don't overwrite it!). If you had to move the Perl scripts to a cgi-bin folder, don't forget to do it again (there are changes in the Perl script).
If you want to update from an older version of MySQLDumper, please do a clean and fresh installation into another directory. If everything is working you can delete the old directory - otherwise you'll have that as a fallback.
With this version we addressed the following issues:
- General: If "inc" was anywhere in the path or the domain to the MySQLDumper-Root-Diretory the file runtime.php couldn't be included.
- Configuration: When saving the Perl configuration file, the selected databases to be backed up have been saved incorrectly.
- Home / directory protection: At creating the protection PHP-Warnings were shown if running PHP lower than 5.3.0.
- Perl: Some cosmetic changes in output
- Perl: Write "DROP VIEW" instead of "DROP TABLE" to backup file if table is a view.
- Perl: Added type of table to log output.

| Latest Mod WordPress Maintenance Mode |

Das man mit MySQLDumper automatisch SQL-Queries vor und nach einem Backup-Vorgang senden lassen kann, um z.B. ein Forum oder einen Blog währendessen in den Wartungsmodus zu versetzen, dürfte bekannt sein. Dass das im WordPress-Mod Maintenance Mode bisher leider nicht ausreichte, um WordPress tatsächlich in den Wartungsmodus zu versetzen, leider auch.
Glücklicherweise hat Frank, der Autor der Mod, das aber nun geändert. Die neueste Version des Mods ist so umgebaut, dass der Wartungsmodus nun über einen Wert in einer DB-Tabelle ausgelöst werden kann und damit perfekt mit MySQLDumper zusammen arbeitet.
Beedy (Stefan) hat ein umfassendes Tutorial verfasst, um Dir alle notwendigen Informationen an die Hand zu geben.

Immer wieder steht die Umlautproblematik bei einem Umzug der Datenbank im Vordergrund.
Warum werden Umlaute falsch dargestellt und was kann man dagegen tun?
